| The previous version of this post should not have been written, therefore it is gone. If you feel the need to comment on the original post or the fact that it is now gone, feel free.
Do not call me a friend if you do not trust me. Friendship is built on trust. Without trust there is only non-committal association.
That's the jist of the original post, distilled down to all that need be said.
Written because it needed to be written, and savage by way of my mood. I'm not much for soft-soaping what I have to say, if I feel it needs saying.

| Go see Star Trek. It is an excellently crafted movie. The story flows, I wasn't bored, and hey, they were blowing stuff up right from the start. What's not to love?
Seriously, if you like Iron Man, go see Star Trek. It's only slightly behind Iron Man in the "This movie totally rocks" department.
People who should see it: Star Trek fans, non-Star Trek fans, Star Trek haters, people who love sci-fi, people who hate sci-fi, and people who have never heard of Star Trek. Which, in a nutshell, I think, covers everyone.
Story: cohesive, solid, moves along at a good pace, humor, tragedy, heroism, and best of all, character development! Hooray for writers that understand that simply blowing everything up, throwing in jargon, saving the day with technology, and all the other faults the various TV series version suffered, is not sufficient.
Cast & Chemistry: I don't think they could have cast it better. The cast played off each other well, had chemistry that ranged from almost good to nearly fantastic (not epic, nor legendary sadly). I hope they do another with the same cast and crew.
Sequel? Hell yes, if not, someone needs to be shot for letting the money train depart.
I'm fixing to see it again, most likely on Imax.

| "You were supposed to be braver sooner!" "Your suite, by the way, came with, at no extra charge, a collection of insects you haven't cataloged yet. Some of them are larger than your hand."

| I took some pictures on Sunday during rehearsal and the post show reception. Click here to see them. That collection of 75 is what I consider to be (so far) the best out of the 240 that I took. More accurately, the ones worth working on and sharing. I linked this from FB as well, but there are a few who hang around here that aren't on FB.

| In 25 minutes or so this day will be over. I will be happier when it is no longer January 28th. At least until next year. I hate that this day is merely two days after my birthday, which by any reasonable standard should be a happy day. But no, it is, for the time being, shadowed by being followed so closely by this date.
